got quirk?

Just as an FYI, I am not a fan of the Lady Gaga's of this world. Whilst I find her style all very creative and theatrical, I don't believe for one moment that she rolls out of bed and throws on these outfits as part of her everyday garb. The whole "it's just who I am" thing is wearing thin...fast. Who really wants to lounge around on a Sunday in a lace body suit, complete with camel toe. How on earth is one supposed to read the Sunday paper with a net eye cover?

Give me quirky yes, but give me quirky with a touch of class, a dash of reality and a whole lot of wear-ability.

Step aside Lady Gaga and enter; Chloe Sevigny, Alexa Chung, Lou Dillon, Cory Kennedy, Atlanta De Cadenet Taylor, Diane Kruger, Peaches & Pixie Geldoff, Whitney Port, Shannyn Sossaman, Mary Kate & Ashley Olsen and Harley Viera Newton.

For these are the girls who's colours clash, who's patterns collide, who's sweater pants are paired with heels and fur coats...these are the girls with original style, unique unto their own without being blatantly obvious.

sunday pretties

Sometimes you should knock back Sunday afternoon drinks with friends to spend time with your sister, to spend time eating pancakes, to spend time laughing at each other, to spend time walking the streets with the sun beating down on your back, to spend time wandering aimlessly around Chapel Street Bazaar searching for all things silver and floaty floral summer dresses, to spend time napping in the afternoon, to spend time watching repeats of Seinfeld, to spend time looking at pretty pretty photos.

So whilst my friends kicked back at Windsor Castle, numerous ice cold Corona's in hand, I did the family thing and despite the pancakes (with lashing of whipped butter and maple syrup aside), my waistline feels all the better for it :)

never met a girl like you before

I have a new obsession that I think is here to stay...well unless my fickle-ness kicks in at break neck speed.

Atlanta de Cadenet Taylor.

Even her name screams cool. She is a bit Rachel Bilson, a bit Angelina Jolie with those lips and then just a helluva lot of rock/hippie cool (if there is such a thing). Anyone who is an avid follower of the cobrasnake.com will no doubt recognise his latest IT girl/muse/likewise obsession.

I decided to do a little more research into her background and this is what I gots so far;

* she is the daughter of Duran Duran bassist John Taylor and british born actress/photographer Amanda de Cadenet

* she was born in '92 which makes her the ripe old age of 17

* she was born in London but her parents fled to LA after privacy issues with the british press, the final straw being a photo plastered across london newspapers of her mother breastfeeding her in Hyde Park.

* she is super super pretty
