boys wanna be her, girls wanna be her

Sometimes Kill's band mate to Jamie Hince, sometimes model, most of the time (as it appears at the moment) happily fronting new four piece super group The Dead Weather with the formidable Jack White.

I introduce Alison Mosshart aka the latest in a long line of my obsessions.

Not since Stevie Nicks has a leading lady fronted a band with such sass and blatant I don't give a f*ck attitude (she chain smokes on stage for hours on end and rarely interacts with the crowd). Her style is thrown together in that casually cool effortless way with a wardrobe that exposes long draping cardigans in Mexican patterns, plaid shirts thrown over ripped tees, torn jeans, scuffed vintage boots one day and Dior Homme gold boots the next.

Only Miss Mosshart would rock a Chloe show in chunky boots, torn jeans and pearls that would put the Queen to shame...and not only that but get away with it while smirking at the cameras. She strolls around town in leopard print overcoats, fur jackets and skinny leg jeans and essentially is what Kate Moss tries to be. The difference you ask? She has a voice to carry it off (Moss' warbling alongside Pete Doherty on La Belle et Le Bete just didn't quite cut it for me). Mosshart is in fact a source of contention between Hince and Moss and if you follow your tabloids as avidly as I do, you will note that she is said to have caused many a scuffle between the two. Moss vs Mosshart? Now there is a fight I would happily buy ringside tickets to see, can you imagine the leopard print and Louboutins that would come flying out of that one?

Allison Mosshart is the type of rock chick that the boys want and the girls want to be. Her blase somewhat arrogant attitude, killer voice and epic style has me hanging from the heavens.

Love her.

bring back vintage kate

Does anyone else miss vintage kate?

I saw snaps of her at last weeks GQ awards pole dancing in a divine Matthew Williamson mini dress. Not long after she was being held up by her boyfriend The Kills' Jamie Hince as she stumbled out of the event and into a waiting car. This scene plays out a little too familiar lately and its getting old.
The girl is gorgeous and she will never stop being anything short of that, but when her eye makeup is practically smeared to within an inch of its life and her Yves Saint Laurent touche eclat isnt covering anything - I think its time to call it a night.
I love a party girl just as much as the next person and lets face it she always was quite the wild child which is really just part of her charm right? But isn't there a part of you that misses vintage kate, wholesome vintage kate, doe-eyed vintage kate in her Calvin Klein ads, the Johnny Depp dating vintage kate, the girl next door vintage kate looking raw, fresh and blemish free.
Pull it together moss, for the sake of us, who watch your every move with baited breath.

not over until the waif lady sings

Kate Moss to front The Kills?

No no no. Say it isn’t so. Kate Moss I love thee. You’re style is an inspiration to us all, you are a woman who single handedly has made us all see something in Pete Doherty that we may never have seen before (or is that still just me?). For this reason I hope it is rumor rather than fact that you have your fashionably gum-booted heels dug deep into the ground and hell bent on auditioning as a replacement for Allison Mosshart (the former Kills front woman has left to concentrate on new super group The Deadweather). Current beau and Kills member, Jamie Hince is said to be dead against the idea but Moss is adamant that she wants her voice out there in a bid to pursue her ever present "musical aspirations" (dating rock stars on high speed rotation isn't enough to satisfy her musical aspirations?).

Quick someone get Sir Phillip Green on the line offering her a new line to design for Topshop. Better yet get Naomi Campbell on the phone to teach her the art of writing a widely panned novel that only sells copies to your mother or those you threaten abuse via mobile phone throwing.

Please Miss Moss I plead with thee, save our ears and continue to bless our eyes with your heroin chic style, your carefully accessorized rock star boyfriends and your so-short-no-one-else-could-pull-these-shorts-off-but-you-shorts.
