if i were but a mere male

If I were but a mere male....

I would want friends like Teddy, Gordie, Chris and even Vern from Stand by Me. I would want a Breitling Montbrilliant Datora watch which wouldn't at all match the skater boy image I was trying to exude thanks to my abundance of tattoos. But then again neither would my man bag, Givenchy leggings or rolled up chino's revealing my I Heart London socks. But that's where good (looking) mates Jake Gyllenhaal and Joaquin Phoenix would step in to defend me, as I sat back with my vintage grandpa hat and strummed my guitar, all the whilst wishing I was actually a drummer.

road trippin'

A friend of mine (not the label) is currently cooling her heels at Melbourne Airport about to board a flight for Thailand...for six whole weeks

Oh the pain, my heart aches so

Instead, my sister and I are about to load my little car and head in the direction of the Great Ocean Road for what will perhaps be one of the last hot summer days.

We've packed the SLR for photo opp's, an eskie filled with treats, gallons of water and lashings of sunscreen plus a wee bit of pocket money so we can purchase some fish and chips on the beach.

Thailand may have Phi Phi Island but we have the knowledge that on our way to Torquay we can stop at one of the greatest vintage stores known to man.....the Geelong Mill Markets.

she walks to a dolce beat

I just made a transfer of funds to my credit card...and so the overseas payback begins. This means one of two things this weekend, a) my weekend budget should extend to nothing more than soda hold the vodka and b) I most definitely cannot afford these pretty as a peach Dolce and Gabbana slingback wedges....like ever. They are perfection all wrapped in one, light on the sole (pardon the pun), easy on the eye and black to the drum of a suede beat.

For now however, I will just have to see them through the eyes of another, one who always brings sheer amazingess to the table. This time she manages to do so in the form of Zara leather, vintage nirvana, BDG denim and dolce dolce dolce.

She sure is living la dolce vita.

if i were but a mere male

If I were but a mere male I would want to wear Marc by Marc Jacobs Spring/Summer 2010...and a bit of Burberrry too.
I would want that Acne plaid shirt. I would want hair like that and friends like those. I would wear my vintage Nikes, my brogues and my hiking boots with pride.
And I would think Macauly Culkin to be a pretty cool dude, but Bob Dylan even cooler.

bring back vintage kate

Does anyone else miss vintage kate?

I saw snaps of her at last weeks GQ awards pole dancing in a divine Matthew Williamson mini dress. Not long after she was being held up by her boyfriend The Kills' Jamie Hince as she stumbled out of the event and into a waiting car. This scene plays out a little too familiar lately and its getting old.
The girl is gorgeous and she will never stop being anything short of that, but when her eye makeup is practically smeared to within an inch of its life and her Yves Saint Laurent touche eclat isnt covering anything - I think its time to call it a night.
I love a party girl just as much as the next person and lets face it she always was quite the wild child which is really just part of her charm right? But isn't there a part of you that misses vintage kate, wholesome vintage kate, doe-eyed vintage kate in her Calvin Klein ads, the Johnny Depp dating vintage kate, the girl next door vintage kate looking raw, fresh and blemish free.
Pull it together moss, for the sake of us, who watch your every move with baited breath.
