copy cat

Writers block strikes often. Sometimes the ideas just don't flow like they should. Other times however, the ideas and words fly around my head, but the ability to express them is lost.

Such is the case when I see THESE street photos of THIS girl from style clicker.

There are so many things that I want to say about this thrown together slash carefully crafted ensemble and yet my backspace button continues to get a working as nothing is coming out quite right.

I am at a loss for words, however I will say this,

LOVE that girl, LOVE her shoes, LOVE her hat, LOVE her wee woolen knits.

LOVE so much, I raided my cupboard and pulled out my long woolen American-Indian inspired cardigan from Zara Fall 2009 and the $25 hat that that I scored from Victoria Markets a few shopping infused Sundays ago.

...they say flattery is one of life's greater compliments, I hope she agrees...

monday i have Frye on my mind

The balmy 30 degree temperatures outside would suggest that Summer remains ever so present here in Melbourne today. But rewind things a fraction back to last week and one wouldn't' be so sure. That's the thing about Melbourne weather, its fickle. Much like myself. So when it comes to clothing, shoes and accessories what I love one week will differ entirely to what I am lusting for the next.

This week I can't even begin to describe my total and utter love/passion/obsession/addiction for these Frye rogan studded combat boots. I would even go as far as saying I would trade my entire shoe collection for them. If I don't receive a pair of these for my birthday consider it a day spent in tears, wallowing in self pity. I can see them pairing so well with my just purchased, slash eagerly awaiting the arrival of my new Shakuhachi dusty pink Geisha Girl shirt dress. I think I just shed a little tear of excitement.

Monday I have Frye on my mind.

Talk to me next week though and I am sure my obsession/love/passion/addiction will have been placed elsewhere.

back from the dead

I'm back from the dead....literally. I had ran away from life and was sunning myself in Perth, West of Australia since ye old Christmas day. My-oh-my does it hurt to be back.

Put simply - reality bites.

Nevertheless I have my Feb edition of Rushh, a delightful new pair of Friend of Mine shoes, a free copy of Lure and a whole heap of wonderful blogs to pour through, to keep me going.

I also come bearing gifts in the next few days, that I had promised before Christmas.

So until we meet again, enjoy the pretty pictures...

lady love

I hate to admit it because its so cliched....but I have some serious lady love for Christine Centenera. Yes so does every other blogger on this earth but I feel that by finally putting pen to paper (or should that be keyboard to blog), that my first post on this it girl is my right of passage in the blogging world.
She the fashion editor of Australia's Harpers Bazaar (yes we can actually claim this one as our own) has sparked a frenzy of street fashion phenomena. The girl never has an off day and is what I would consider to be somewhat of a poster girl for the in season shoulder pad. So whilst most of the fashion elite are fighting off claims they have had a face lift, our dear Christine has proudly announced that she isn't one to shy away from a little lift in the shoulder department.

Her forte is shoes (her collection sends my heart into a platform heeled flutter), her legs are envious and her clothing I cannot even begin to describe. Except to say that her style is edgy -she pairs fur with studs and leather making it look like black and white are the odd couple. She does casual chic with ease one day and then sends you into a tail spin the next by wearing a dress of a kaleidoscope of colours and patterns combined with mismatched shoes that work so well you wonder if your eyes are actually deceiving you?

It is without hesitation that I can say that Centenera is fashion centuries ahead of the rest of us.

well heeled to increase your happy

Sometimes some days are worse than others and when you have those days you need a little something to pick you up. For me that little something usually involves chocolate and peppermint tea in abundance.

Sometimes however all it takes is a glimpse of something shiny, something structured in perfection, something that should be placed in a museum not laid to rest in a closet, something you know will make you instantly taller, something you know will attract attention. In this instance that little something just so happens to be a SHOE (or should that be SHOES?)

A Nicolas Kirkwood Spiderweb heel to be exact. Last spotted on Mary Kate Olsen in all its amazing glory at Fashions' Night Out in NYC.

Oh and then there is a little something by way of Finsk. A gold fish scale shoe boot so shiny and divine I can barely look at it.

And lastly (and yes I do realise this was part of his last season collection) may I introduce you to Alejandro Ingelmo's well heeled creation, as spotted and fawned over ever since in UK Grazia.

Yes they all brightened up my day and increased my happy ten fold. Dip them in chocolate and we may have ourselves the answer to anyone's problems...
