celebrating centuries

"The face you have at age 25 is the face that God gave you, but the face you have at 50 is the face you earned"

- Cindy Crawford -

Celebrating 100 followers got me thinking about what even triggered my deep infatuation for models, pretty pictures and fashion. Then I remembered Cindy Crawford in 'that' 90's Pepsi Ad...and so my obsession begun. I had that commercial taped and it was replayed constantly, I stole my mum's Cleo and stuck pictures of Crawford all around my room (much to my parents credit they said nothing about the fact that a 7 year old girl had half naked pictures of a model in her room) and I begged my mum to draw a mole on my face with black eyeliner mirroring the infamous Crawford spot.

To this day, to say that I have a crush on Crawford is putting mildly.

natural models, still super

A little while ago I posted a little something about bringing back those famed nineties supermodels, I revelled in their infinite beauty and proclaimed in all they had achieved in their prime. Prime? Who said they were past it? Fast forward a few weeks later and I have come across a shoot by Peter Lindbergh for the September edition of Harpers Bazaar. It is a collection of a few of those super people in little else but bare fresh faced skin, freckles a plenty and not a near airbrush in sight. They had my heart before, but now I fear they may have my soul. God bless the supermodels, proof that yes maybe they are born with it and no its not all about Maybelline.
