wang's wisdom

"Anyone can get dressed up and glamorous but it is how people dress in their days off that are the most intriguing"

- Alexander Wang -

Case in point, to all the models as seen in and around the fashionable meat packing district and the taxi laden streets of downtown New York for New York City Fashion Week February 2010 (oh and I've thrown in a few Paris fashion week snaps for good measure!)

Quite frankly however, I was a little disappointed. Now I'm sure the subliminally freezing temperatures in NYC were mostly to blame, but have we not yet seen the end of PVC leggings, biker boots and the ubiquitous model trademark black jeans?

(...she says as she jumps online in desperate search of all three items at a fraction of the cost of a model's buy price)

Evidently not.

sunday pretties

Sometimes you should knock back Sunday afternoon drinks with friends to spend time with your sister, to spend time eating pancakes, to spend time laughing at each other, to spend time walking the streets with the sun beating down on your back, to spend time wandering aimlessly around Chapel Street Bazaar searching for all things silver and floaty floral summer dresses, to spend time napping in the afternoon, to spend time watching repeats of Seinfeld, to spend time looking at pretty pretty photos.

So whilst my friends kicked back at Windsor Castle, numerous ice cold Corona's in hand, I did the family thing and despite the pancakes (with lashing of whipped butter and maple syrup aside), my waistline feels all the better for it :)

saving face

A random collection of faceless images.
They always say you should never judge a book by its cover, but what if you start judging people from the waist down? Is that morally a step up?
Take away a face and you might think that it's not going to be all about the one with the beautiful smile or the one with the pretty eyes and that judgement will be a thing of the past. But let's be honest here, faceless or not, there is something to be said for the clothing that accompanies a person. So essentially a world without pretty faces would be a life all the more boring and one no more free of judgement than the world we live in today.
p.s. Yes I'm in a philosophical mood...and yes I have way too much time on my hands...don't judge me, well not at least until you can see what I'm wearing.
